Below are details of the October league. Where practicable I have promoted the top players from the September league and relegated the less successful. Players who did not compete in September without explanation have been omitted. Most new players have been included in Division I (which is a group of 5)
You will have 3 matches to play each month-matches are best of 3 tie break sets with a match tie break (first to 10) instead of the 3rd set. If both players agree in advance you can alternatively play best of three sets (no match tie break) or one set only. Please record the score on the club notice board.
Two points will be awarded for a win and 1 for a loss. At the end of each month the top 2 players in each group will be promoted and the bottom 2 relegated. Matches can be played in any order but I suggest:
Week 1:1 v 2, 3 v 4,
Week 2: 1 v 3, 2 v 4
Week 3: 1 v 4, 2 v 3
Group I to play in any order but should organise immediately as they have more matches to play.
Email addresses are shown as cc (in group order). Please contact your opponents immediately. These matches must be played by 31st October. Let me know if you have had no response from your email so that I can give you a phone contact number.
Matches can be played at any mutually convenient time (preferably not during social tennis sessions)- let me know if you need to book a court.

Singles League FINAL - Congrats to Olly Lester! 11/12/09
The finals of this year's singles league took place on 11th December.
Group A was reasonably straightforward. The final positions were: 1st Olly
Lester 3, 2nd Terry Oakes 2, 3rd Kevin Laws 1, 4th Richard Matthews 0.
Group B was extremely close with several very tight matches. The positions
had to be determined by games won and then head to head. Positions were: 1st
Tomasz Zbikowski 2, 2nd Steve Ingle 2, 3rd Simon Hancock 2, 4th Jean-Marc Michel
(replaced by Chris Drew for final group match) 0.
Play off were then held to determine the final positions. These produced a
final order of
1-Olly Lester, 2-Tomasz Zbikowski, 3-Terry Oakes, 4-Steve Ingle, 5-Simon
Hancock, 6-Kevin Laws, 7-Chris Drew, 8- Richard Matthews.
Congratulation to all but especially Olly on four very convincing victories
at a total loss of three games!
Singles League Group Results 3/12/09
Thank you for competing in the Singles League. A grand total of 108 matches
were played so it can definitely be considered a great success which will
hopefully be repeated next year- probably with LTA ratings points at
stake!
The top 8 players (shown in bold) will compete in the finals on Sat 12th
Dec starting at 10 am
