Wilton triumphed in the final of the Streatham Cup and wrested the fine old trophy back from Magdalen Park in a thrilling match in the cold on Saturday. The key rubber,as always, in matches between our two clubs was the mixed doubles and in a very exciting 3 setter Kim Freebairn and Daryl Eaton managed to triumph against Mick Francombe and Katy Pickles. There were rather more comfortable victories for Alex McDonald in the ladies singles and Rochelle van der Walt and Jacinta Gunn in the ladies doubles. Chris Maguire put up a great fight in the mens singles as did Ashley Balm and Ted Boyce in the mens doubles but without success. Our victory marks Wilton's eighth victory in the competition.

Dear All
Just to let you know that it's our annual SuperSets event this Sunday.
32 players have entered in total- from both Wilton and other clubs-some a considerable distance away.
The standard of play (especially in the afternoon) should be excellent with £100 at stake for the winning man. Main draw matches will have official umpires along with ball boys and girls in training for the Albert Hall vets event in December.
Light refreshments will be on sale throughout the day from 9.30 am until about 6 pm.
We hope you will be able to come and watch. All courts will be in use so unfortunately there will be no social tennis.
Best regards
Terry

I'm sure you'll all want to join me in congratulating Chris Drew in winning the women's singles section and coming 3rd overall (out of 235) in the TFF fantasy predictions competition for the US Open.
Proof (if it wasn't already known) that Chris's knowledge of tennis is unrivalled! Despite the rather less sparkling achievements of Andy Slough, James Reed and yours truly, the Wilton Fab Foursome also won the top mini league section.
