A Frosty Morning Is No Match For Our 6th Team!
It was December 7th 2008, a cold and frosty morning, the courts were iced over meaning vital matches could not be played, it looked like certain disaster. BUT there were 2 men that couldn't be deterred - 6th team Captain Dave Tallis and his trusty minion Richard Embry. They racked their brains together for several seconds when Embry came up with a brain wave - arming himself with only a KETTLE and a BIN BAG he set about defrosting the courts single-handedly, soon inspired others would follow, as can be seen (thanks to Richmond's captain for the photos).

Mark and Mary have come up with a brilliant idea to raise money for Red Nose Day. They will be running a tournament during Team Practice on Tuesday 10th March. The cost will be £5 and all the money raised will go to the charity.
We thought rather than having to wear a red nose we decided that instead whoever enters must wear one red item of clothing.
If you would like to enter let me know ASAP as it will given to the first 16 to reply.
Wilton was blessed with excellent weather for its 26th annual open junior tournament. Over 300 matches were played outdoors in mid February at the host club as well as at Cranleigh and Westside. The standard of play was uniformly high as befits a Grade 3 event but particularly impressive were the younger age groups. 13 Wilton juniors took part and for the first time ever two Wilton players contested a final- the Girls 18's between Michaela Knespl and Lisa Losseva. Michaela won two events as did the individual star of the tournament- Max England who won the Boys 18 and 16 events-winning 10 matches for a total loss of 20 games! Lauren Horsford won the Arek Szrajbman trophy for the best achievement by a Merton player while her sister Olivia was runner up in the first-ever Wilton Red Mini Tennis event.
