2008 Winter Finals Day Results & Highlights
Monday, 28 April 2008
Our winter finals day was one of the best in recent years. The quality of tennis was high and most finals were closely contested. One highlight was the mens doubles when Ashley and Ted withstood the challenge of the young stars Alex and Tom in order to win their 12th Wilton mens doubles title together. At the end of the day Martin Howley and Richard Jones battled for nearly three hours in the Mens 55 Singles. Sixty stroke rallies were commonplace before Martin finally prevailed - 21 years after he won the Mens 45 Singles!

Photos show the winners being congratulated by Club President Dennis Parker.

Winter Tournament 2007 Finals Day
Monday, 30 April 2007
A beautiful April day brought a good number of members to watch what may have been one of Wilton's best ever finals days. There were three closely contested three setters including an epic three hour duel between Shervin Nejand and Martyn Lunn in the Mens 45's. Both open singles titles changed hands by virtue of superb performances by Christa Gecheva and Peter Schlamberger. Ashley Balm made amends for his singles loss by claiming his twenty-fifth Wilton title when partnering Jeannne Vermaak to a narrow victory against Andrea Salinitro and Kim Freebairn in the last match of an excellent day's tennis.
