Meet Our Coaches

Kim Freebairn: Kim is our new head coach at Wilton. She has a University Degree in Exercise and Sport Science and an LTA Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Tennis. Kim is from Australia where and has been playing tennis for over 20 years and coaching for over 7 years. Kim has experience in both Adult and Junior lessons and looks forward to providing you with the highest level of service both on and off the court. Her team of assistant coaches have a wide range of tennis and coaching experience and all are trained coaches so that the highest quality of coaching is provided. Dham Ekanayaka: Dham, originally from Sri Lanka has been playing tennis for 15 years and coaching for 4. In the coming months he is hoping to complete his LTA, DCA award to add to his experience in coaching both adults and junior here and in other clubs throughout Surrey.
Henry Brooks:  Henry is a long term membe of the Wilton Tennis Club and is a fully qualified and licensed DCA tennis coach.

Amit Mohindra and Ash Balm:

Amit and Ash head up the ever popular Improvers courses that we run here at Wilton and bring their many, many years of playing and coaching experience to the table. Ashley is a PTR qualified coach and is a permanent on the courts at Wimbledon Park. Amit works full time at the Cheam Tennis club but returns to make 'celebrity' appearences at Wilton to help run the Improvers.

As with any tennis centre we have a team of coaches who do the majoirty of the hours on court (who are mentioned above) and some coaches who do only a couple of hours a week but still contribute to and complement our popular coaching programme at Wilton. Some of the faces you may see on court include:

All coaches are available for private lessons. Please enquire through Kim for details and availability.

Private Lessons:

1 hour : £25 p/hr
1 1/2 hours: £14 p/hr

Programmes:

A thriving coaching programme is run by Head Coach Kim Freebairn.

Group and Individual lessons are available for all members. These can be arranged with Kim on a week-by-week or permanent basis. Please enquire for available days and times.

For juniors Kim offers a hierarchy of programmes from lessons for the very youngest beginner to the elite junior. There are group lessons for 4 to 8 children, ‘Talent Squads' for those who are taking their tennis a little more seriously and semi and private lessons of ½ and 1 hour duration. Please ask Kim for prices and times.

In the Merton summer holidays we run tennis camps, which will incorporate tennis lessons, games, competitions and general sports into the week long programme.

You will find the programmes here to be very flexible and we go to great lengths to try and find you an ideal day, time and standard for your child.

Regular match days are run against nearby clubs and information on playing tournaments is readily available to anyone who is interested.

Adult Coaching:

The Saturday Squad:
(for non-team full members) 1 - 2:30pm every Saturday of the Merton School Term. £7.50 per lesson pre paid for the term.

Sunday Improvers (for Improver Members):
6 - 7:30pm every Sunday evening. £8 per person per lesson prepaid for the whole term.

Adult sqauds can be formed at any time with a minimum of 3 players.

General Info:

Group sizes of any number and price can be accomodated to suit the individual and groups needs. The majority of groups are 4 per coach, per hour, per court for approximately £5-6 per lesson pre paid for the whole term. See downloadable lesson form for details.
