The second month of the autumn singles league has now finished with 27 matches having been played. Congratulations to Group E who completed all matches. On the basis of 2 points for a win and 1 for a loss the current scores are as follows: (Note the surprise and undoubtedly temporary leader!) 11:Terry Oakes. 10:Richard Jones, Steve Ingle, Lionel Stride. 9:Jeremy Law, Pippa Slough. 8:Paul Morgan, Jo Kennedy. 7:Richard Embry, Simon Hancock. 6:Jonny Petch, Ji Yi Khoo, Adam Briggs, James Reed, Matt Hudspith. 5:Greta Musu, Andrew Last. 4:Joe Chadwick, Georgi Gechev, Andrew Douglas, Joe Heaver, Simon Miley, John Wiltshire,Louise Hird, Richard Cumbley, Dennis Parker. 3:Chris Drew, Karen Dervish, Steve Mead. 2:David Zamora, Christa Gecheva. 1:Henry Brooks, Hamza Barbouche. The top four players as of the end of November will take part in a 1 set round robin competition for the Singles League trophy at 1 pm on Sunday 14th December-please keep this date free. Below are details of the November league. Where practicable I have promoted the top players from the October league and relegated the less successful. Players who did not compete in October without explanation have been omitted.
You will have 3 matches to play this month-matches are best of 3 tie break sets with a match tie break (first to 10) instead of the 3rd set. If both players agree in advance you can alternatively play best of three sets (no match tie break) or one set only. Please record the score on the club notice board.
Two points will be awarded for a win and 1 for a loss. Matches can be played in any order but I suggest:
Week 1:1 v 2, 3 v 4,
Week 2: 1 v 3, 2 v 4
Week 3: 1 v 4, 2 v 3
Email addresses are shown as cc (in group order). Please contact your opponents immediately. These matches must be played by 30th November. Let me know if you have had no response from your email so that I can give you a phone contact number.
Matches can be played at any mutually convenient time (preferably not during social tennis sessions)- let me know if you need to book a court.
